HOLDING IN COMPANY

The Company was informed on 7 December 1998 that,
following a purchase on 4 December 1998 of 1,400,000
Ordinary shares of 5p each ("Shares") in the Company,
Electra Investment Trust PLC now has a total interest
of 1,480,000 Shares in the Company representing 4.14%
of the Company's issued ordinary share capital. These
shares are registered as follows:

Bishopsgate Nominees Limited a/c 336    1,400,000
Bishopsgate Nominees Limited a/c 609       80,000*

*Shares registered on behalf of Electra Securities
Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Electra
Investment Trust PLC.
