            Pre-close statement for the year ended 31 December 2007

CBI, one of the leading producers of biodiesel focused on the Chinese market, is
pleased to announce a trading update for the year ended 31 December 2007. The
Company will announce its results for the year ended 31 December 2007 on 21
April 2008.

Following the announcement of our interims and trading update in September 2007,
trading within the Company has continued in line with prior guidance .The Board
therefore anticipates that the Group results for the full year will be in line
with market expectations.

Since the commencement of the production in August 2007, the second plant in
Longyan has been increasing its output. The total output for the second half of
2007 was 14551 tons (23 per cent. up from 11796 ton of H1 2007). Preparation for
trial production within the Company's new Xiamen plant is currently is underway
with the recruitment of appropriate employees and the purchase of feedstock.

As previously stated profit margins during 2007 have been under pressure due to
the rising cost of feedstock and Chinese government control on fuel prices. The
Company has been able to mitigate some of the impact of this by increasing its
production of Biodiesel I and II products, which have higher value and prices
than Biodiesel III and are not subject to government control. The output
percentage of BI and BII had been risen to 75% in Dec 2007 from 30% in August
2007and we expect to continue to maximize our product mix.

The Company's wholly owned subsidiary, Longyan Zhuoyue New Energy Co, Ltd,
obtained the national authorisation for two new patents in the second half of
2007, making a total of five patents authorised during the year. The Company's
biodiesel logo "ZHUONENG" was also officially recognised as a Provincial Famous
Trademark in November enhancing the brand awareness of the Group.

As a National Key High-Tech Enterprise and a leading player in the biodiesel
sector, Longyan Zhuoyue New Energy is also involved in various national
scientific projects, In January 2008, the government showed its support for
these projects by providing a grant of RMB 4 million.

CBI's chairman, Mr. Huodong Ye, commented:

"Despite a difficult year for in which the cost of raw material has increased
globally, the Company has been able to consolidate its position for further
growth. As output is increased from our plants we believe the Company will
continue to show both financial and operating growth to maximize shareholder
returns."
