The following announcement replaces the GCap Media Rajar Results released at 7am 
this morning and the amended release, which includes both Capital Radio and GWR 
Group results, appears below.  A number of grammatical changes have been made.


                             Capital Radio and GWR

        17.1 million listeners and 35.2% of all UK commercial listening

* GCap Media will have reach twice the size of nearest commercial rival
  with 17.1 million listeners

* Classic FM - the UK's leading commercial radio station with 6 million
  listeners

* Simon Bates UK's number one commercial breakfast show with 3 million
  listeners

* London's leading commercial radio group

* 95.8 Capital FM, London's leading commercial station with reach up 3%
  to 2.11 million listeners

* Johnny Vaughan number one at breakfast in London, adding 108,000 more
  listeners

The combined RAJAR figures for Capital Radio and GWR today demonstrated the
unrivalled scale and brand portfolio strength that the proposed merger will
offer advertisers, with over twice the reach of its nearest commercial rival.

Reaching 35% of the UK population with listeners in the UK's most demanded
areas, GCap Media will create the first real commercial competitor to the BBC.

In the London market, the group will reach more listeners than any other
commercial radio group with 120,000 more listeners. In the important breakfast
slot, 95.8 Capital FM has the leading commercial radio breakfast show and with
an additional 108,000 listeners has now overtaken Radio 2.

Digital listening continues to be an important part of our growth strategy and
national DAB digital radio station Planet Rock has achieved its best ever RAJAR
figures reaching 286,000 listeners each week.

Ralph Bernard, who will be GCap Media Executive Chairman, commented:

6.  Reach refers to the total number of listeners in thousands that a
    station attracts across an average week during the published survey period. 
    It can also be expressed as a percentage of the adult population within the
    station's transmission area.

7.  Share refers to the percentage of total weekly radio listening hours
    accounted for by a station within its transmission area and across an 
    average week during the survey period.

8.  Total Capital UK refers to all listening to Capital Radio stations
    across the UK (analogue and digital).

9.  The Mix Network comprises of 2CR, 2-Ten FM, 96.9 Chiltern FM, 97.6
    Chiltern FM, Coast FM 96.3, Beacon FM, Broadland 102, Buzz 97.1 FM, Champion
