sales of IBM Cognos Express toKettle Foods, supplier of KETTLE Chips - the
UK's leading premium crisp brand - and Mayflex - a leading distributor of
cabling infrastructure, networking and physical security products.
IBM Cognos Express is the first and only integrated Business Intelligence (BI)
and Planning solution, purpose-built to meet the needs of midsize companies. It
delivers the essential reporting, analysis, dashboard, scorecard, planning,
budgeting and forecasting capabilities that midsize companies need at an
affordable price.
Kettle Foods will use the software to identify strategic opportunities and
provide an integrated planning and reporting tool to replace complex, and
difficult to maintain, spreadsheets.
Shaun Richardson, IT Manager at Kettle Foods, commented: "We spent a year
looking at the relative merits of a variety of business intelligence software
solutions. We selected IBM Cognos Express because it combines the planning and
modeling strengths of IBM Cognos TM1 and the reporting strengths of IBM Cognos 8
BI in a value for money offering, providing a complete planning, reporting and
scenario modeling toolset.

IBM Cognos Express has also recently been chosen by Mayflex Holdings Ltd to
provide a stable environment within which to budget business activities,
replacing their current large and complex spreadsheet system. The facility to
use the web for input and viewing was also a key decision factor in the purchase
process - due to the requirement of UK and international users connecting
remotely.
