New Bathroom and Kitchen Products Focus On Making Consumers' Lives
Better, Easier LAS VEGAS, May 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
KITCHEN/BATH INDUSTRY SHOW -- Comfort, conservation, convenience
and chic styling mark the new standard for what consumers can
expect from bathroom and kitchen fixtures at the 2007 Kitchen and
Bath Industry Show (K/BIS). American Standard, Porcher(R) and JADO
have set the bar high by introducing new products with unexpected
features that help make consumers' lives easier, while adding
beauty to their kitchens and baths. Whether it's a new
next-generation flushing system for toilets, showerheads with water
conservation features or handcrafted bathroom furniture that
installs without tools, it's all on display at the Las Vegas
Convention Center today through Thursday. "These new products
demonstrate our commitment to making life better in the bathroom
and kitchen for consumers," says Jeannette Long, director of
marketing communications, American Standard. "Our exclusive
technologies and innovative designs show how American Standard has
put ingenuity, quality and performance to work for them." Following
is an overview of what's new from American Standard, Porcher and
JADO at K/BIS (#C3735). Champion(R) 4 Flushing System The
next-generation Champion 4 flushing system laps the competition --
and American Standard's own previous breakthough -- with the widest
waterways in the industry, virtually eliminating clogging, noisy
flushes and the dreaded overflow. Featuring a four-inch opening
between the tank and the bowl, it creates incredible water power by
pushing water into the bowl three times faster than the standard
two-inch flush valve and one-third faster than a 3 1/4-inch flush
valve. Its wide-open, fully glazed trapway can move almost 70
percent more mass than a standard two-inch trapway. FloWise(R)
Toilet and FloWise(R) Showerheads FloWise(R), the first toilet to
reduce water usage by more than 20 percent without a dual flush,
has now earned it the right to bear the new Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) WaterSense(SM) label. Much like the ENERGY
STAR program for appliances, the program makes it easy for
consumers to select water-efficient products. To earn the
WaterSense label, a toilet must use only 1.28 gallons per flush
(gpf), down 20 percent from the 1.6 gpf found in conventional
toilets. Similarly, American Standard introduces three new FloWise
showerheads that use only 1.5 gallons per minute or 40 percent less
water than the current code for showerheads. Stylish Preassembled
Bathroom Furniture A new collection of five handcrafted vanities
from American Standard comes pre-assembled, yet ingeniously folded
down, making it easy for consumers to carry the furniture, maneuver
it through doors and upstairs, and install without tools. The
vanities arrive folded, yet fully assembled, in a flat box. To
install, simply unfold. The furniture is available in three chic,
natural hardwood designs including Cardiff, a modern, contemporary
style; Jefferson, a clean Colonial style; and Cambridge, a
transitional design that evokes an English country feel.
Porcher/JADO Design Experience Contest Winners Winners of the
first-ever Porcher/JADO Design Experience Contest will be in the
booth to showcase their winning design concepts. Porcher and JADO
invited designers from across the nation to share their ideas and
talents by entering design concepts for either a powder room or a
master bathroom, and to incorporate Porcher and JADO products and
accessories into their designs. John Kim and Tai Moy of KIMOY
Studios, New York, N.Y., won in the master bathroom category and
Alex Gil of Alex Gil Design, Brooklyn, N.Y., won in the powder room
category. Both category winners received a grand prize package
valued at $15,000 including $5,000 in cash, a four-day trip to
Paris to visit the Porcher showroom, and the opportunity to
informally discuss their designs in the booth in Las Vegas. The
designers will make an appearance in the booth on May 8 and 9
between 1-3 p.m. Also in the booth will be these featured products
from American Standard, Porcher and JADO. Copeland(TM) Collection
Faucets The new Copeland collection of faucets, a uniquely American
transitional style, includes centerset and widespread lavatory
faucets, deck-mounted tub fillers with or without personal shower,
as well as bath and shower trim and valve kits. Moments(TM)
Collection of Contemporary Faucets The Moments collection reflects
minimalist European design trends. Created by award-winning German
design studio Artefakt, the line includes faucets, valves and
escutcheons for bidets, baths and showers. Undercounter Bath Sinks
Two new vitreous china sinks -- the Tudor and Rattan undercounter
lavatories -- feature subtle, linear design lines around the basin
that are reminiscent of the S-curves used in furniture and
architecture. Both are engineered without crevices for dirt to
hide. Afwall(R) FloWise(R) and Madera(R) FloWise(R) Commercial
Toilets Two new 1.28 gpf commercial toilets are high efficiency
flushers, consuming 20 percent less water than the industry
standard of 1.6 gpf. Both offer water conservation without
compromising performance. Available for use with American
Standard's new Afwall FloWise and Madera FloWise 1.28 gpf toilets,
the new Selectronic valve automatically compensates for
fluctuations in water pressure. Cadet(R) 3 Compact Toilets Cadet 3
toilets fit elongated comfort into a round front space. The one-
and two-piece compact toilets feature American Standard's fired-in,
permanent, antimicrobial EverClean(TM) surface that helps them stay
cleaner longer. Fashion Forward Tropic(TM) Toilet American
Standard's new Tropic two-piece toilet demands attention with an
artfully designed tank and trip level to complement the popular
Tropic faucet collection. Its unique design makes a statement that
goes with the flow in any design environment. Green Tea(TM)
Collection of Whirlpools, Faucets A new collection of whirlpools
and faucets from American Standard helps restore the balance and
serenity to life within the privacy and comfort of the bath. The
Asian-inspired design is elegant, yet unadorned in its purity.
Porcher's Fifth and 57th Line of Luxury Bath Furniture New York
City's Fifth Avenue, famed for the world's most exquisite shopping,
is the inspiration for a new collection of elegant bathroom
furniture from Porcher. The line features art deco styling with
elegant, clean lines, rich wood tones and sculptural hardware. JADO
Nickel Finish Bathroom Faucets German-engineered JADO bathroom
faucets are now available in Antique Nickel finish. Nickel finishes
are among the most popular for luxury fixtures, fine hardware and
lighting. JADO Glance(TM) Kitchen Faucet JADO'S Glance collection
now has a kitchen faucet in addition to its popular bath offerings.
Making its stateside debut, the faucet features a single-handle
monoblock with the collection's signature "joystick" slender lever
handle. JADO IQ(TM) Semi-Pro Kitchen Faucet The clean lines, curves
and workhorse functionality of this faucet were born from the
inspiration of Matteo Thun, former creative director for Swatch.
Multi-tasking gourmets will love its contemporary design combined
with functional prowess. JADO IQ(TM) Faucet Series for the Bath and
Kitchen With an aptitude for minimalism that offers an understated
verve, the new IQ series faucets for the bath and kitchen stand
apart from cookie-cutter contemporary rivals. DATASOURCE: American
