    The announcement released on 29 March 2006 titled transaction in own shares
incorrectly stated the resultant number of shares in issue less those held in
treasury. The corrected announcement is shown below.



Anglo and Overseas PLC transaction in own shares

The Company has today purchased 15,000 of its own shares of 10p each at a price
of 1.1325p per share. The shares were re-purchased for holding in treasury.

Following repurchase the Company has 91,674 Ordinary shares held in treasury.
The number of shares in issue remains 89,724,381. The number of shares in
issue, less those held in treasury, is 89,632,707.
