On 28 December 2005 the Company purchased 40,874 of its own Ordinary Shares of
10p each at a price of 105.6597p per share. The shares were re-purchased for
holding in treasury.

Following repurchase the issued capital of the Company remains 89,724,381
Ordinary Shares. 40,784 Ordinary Shares are held in treasury.
