                                 AGM STATEMENT

At the Annual General Meeting of ALPHA Airports Group Plc held today, the
Chairman Rodney Galpin made the following comments regarding current trading.

"Trading within the Group for the early months of the year has been in line
with expectations.

On 4th June it was confirmed that Intra EU Duty Free and Tax Free allowances
will be abolished from 30th June 1999.  Whilst we were disappointed that the
EU decided to proceed with the abolition, we have planned for and are well
placed to tackle the challenges of a changing travel retail industry.

On the 11th June we were pleased to announce the acquisition of the British
Airways in-flight catering facility at Gatwick for #14m.  In addition BA and
Alpha have entered into a new 10 year service agreement for the continued
supply of in-flight catering and ancillary services at Gatwick and eight UK
regional airports.  As a result of this transaction our net debt will rise
from the year end level of #76m and this was taken into account earlier this
year when the Board reviewed the dividend policy."
