PR Newswire (US)
EDMONTON, Alberta, April 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Medical
Services International Inc. (OTC:MSITF) is pleased to announce that
it has received regulatory approval of its VScan Dengue Fever test
kit in Saudi Arabia. Currently there is an outbreak of Dengue Fever
in the Middle East. There are 4 different strains of Dengue Fever.
The VScan Dengue Fever test kit has the ability to detect all 4
different strains. This is important in that infection with one
strain does not give immunity from the 3 other strains. Dengue
Fever is transmitted by mosquitoes. In its mildest form Dengue
Fever can incapacitate an individual for up to 6 months. In the
worst case, the individual dies within days through massive
hemorrhaging. Successful treatment of Dengue Fever depends on early
detection. The standard laboratory takes a minimum of three (3)
days to as long as twenty-one (21) days to complete a test for
Dengue Fever. The VScan Dengue Fever test kit gives results in less
than 15 minutes and is accurate greater than 99% of the time. The
Company believes that the regulatory approval by Saudi Arabia of
the Dengue Fever test kit should increase the anticipated sales of
the Dengue Fever Kit from 400,000 to 750,000 kits. About VScan The
VScan rapid test kit is a single use, disposable, accurate, cost
effective, easy to use, test for the screening of HIV 1&2,
Hepatitis B&C, Tuberculosis (TB), Dengue Fever, West Nile,
Syphilis, Malaria and Prostate Cancer. The kits cannot be sold in
Canada. Medical Services International Inc. trades in the United
States on the NQB Pinksheets under the symbol "MSITF". For further
