The London Metal Exchange said Tuesday that its board has approved the resignation of Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (ACA.FR) as a Category 2 member and approved Category 2 membership for Commerzbank AG (CBK.XE).

Credit Agricole's resignation as a Category 2 member takes effect immediately, the LME said.

Category 2 members or associate broker clearing members have all the privileges of Ring-dealing members except they may not trade in the LME-dealing Ring.

Category 2 members are entitled to issue LME contracts and can trade on LMEselect and the telephone market. They are also members of the clearinghouse.
