Canadian Shield Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: EXP) ("Canadian Shield" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Fernando Pickmann to the Board of Directors, and the expansion of its exploration team in Lima, Peru.

Mr. Pickmann, a practicing lawyer based in Lima, brings more than 15 years of commercial and mining law experience to the Company. Mr. Pickmann received his Professional Degree in Law from the University of Lima in 1994 and his Masters Degree in Law (L.L.M) specializing in Business Legal Advice from the Law School at the Instituto de Empresa IE in Madrid Spain in 1997. He worked for Centromin Peru S.A., the Peruvian Government's mining privatization arm from 1997-98 and has practiced law in private firms since 1998. Mr. Pickmann brings a unique combination of corporate experience in both the Peruvian and Canadian mining industries to Canadian Shield. Keith Laskowski, President of Canadian Shield stated; "We are very fortunate and excited to have Mr. Pickmann join our team, and I look forward to his contributions as we take our Peruvian program forward."

Canadian Shield has added two geologists to its local Peruvian team to work on its Regional Andean Gold Exploration program. Mr. Laskowski will be managing this program as part of his expanded role. He is an experienced geologist and Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101. Philip Anderson, VP Exploration and Board Director since March 2007, has decided to step down to pursue other opportunities. The Board and Management thank Mr. Anderson for his contributions to Canadian Shield's operations in Peru and wish him success in his future endeavours.
