Survey measures corporate travel buyer perceptions of airline performance HOUSTON, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) outranked its U.S. network competitors to take top honors in Business Travel News' (BTN) Annual Airline Survey for the second consecutive year. Continental ranked highest in half of the 10 survey categories including quality of airline communications, value of relationships with account managers and sales representatives, problem resolution and flexibility in negotiating transient pricing. "Even in these tough times, we continue to invest in the product, listen to our buyers and work hard to give them what they want," said Monisa Cline, Continental's staff vice president North America sales. "Our goal is to be the most visible sales team in the industry because we believe that relationships matter." This is the 12th year that BTN has conducted its Annual Airline Survey that measures corporate travel buyer perceptions of airline performance in negotiating for and delivering service and maintaining preferred relationships. BTN contracted Equation Research to host and tabulate the survey of randomly selected qualified readers. The domestic survey contained a list of the 12 largest domestic airlines as identified by the U.S. Department of Transportation, excluding regional affiliates of major carriers. Continental Airlines is the world's fifth largest airline. Continental, together with Continental Express and Continental Connection, has more than 2,400 daily departures throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia, serving 130 domestic and 132 international destinations. Continental is a member of Star Alliance, which provides access to more than 900 additional points in 169 countries via 24 other member airlines. With more than 41,000 employees, Continental has hubs serving New York, Houston, Cleveland and Guam, and together with its regional partners, carries approximately 63 million passengers per year. Celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, Continental consistently earns awards and critical acclaim for both its operation and its corporate culture.
