SRA Awarded $54.6 Million Defense Personal Property System Contract
With U.S. Department of Defense Company to Develop Web-based System
to Support DoD Personal Property Shipments Worldwide FAIRFAX, Va.,

announced today that it has been awarded a competitive contract by
the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Military Surface Deployment
and Distribution Command to develop a single, Web- based personal
property system to integrate and automate all DoD processes that
support military service families' moves worldwide. The contract
has an estimated value of $54.6 million over ten years if all
options are exercised. The Military Surface Deployment and
Distribution Command manages DoD's $1.8 billion Personal Property
Program and is responsible for moving over 500,000 shipments
annually for the Military Services, DoD agencies, and the U.S.
Coast Guard. The new system, part of the DoD "Families First"
initiative, will streamline the personal property movement process
and align with ongoing transportation reengineering and business
improvement initiatives throughout DoD. The SRA team will design,
develop, deploy, operate, and maintain the new system. Services
will include project management, requirements analysis, systems
integration, information assurance, database development, and
integration of commercial off-the-shelf customer relationship
management and supply chain management technologies. The SRA team
