Era a.s., a subsidiary of SRA International, Inc. (NYSE: SRX), today announced that it has entered into a licensing agreement with Lianozovo Electromechanical Plant (LEMZ R&P Corporation) for the manufacturing and delivery of Era’s air traffic management (ATM) surveillance products within the Russian Federation.

LEMZ is an internationally recognized research and production corporation with a rich 60-year history developing, manufacturing and managing radar technologies for the Russian Federation as well as 50 other countries around the world. Recently, LEMZ chose Era’s next-generation surveillance technology for solutions in Moscow and Sochi.

“This agreement represents another positive step in our long-term relationship with LEMZ,” said SRA President and CEO Stan Sloane. “Like Era, LEMZ is an ATM pioneer with a proven track record of successful ATM endeavors across the Russian Federation. They are the perfect partner to help expand our reach in the Russian market.”

The initial agreement lasts for 10 years and includes the installation of an Era MSS multilateration and ADS-B surveillance solution at Pulkovo Airport. This system will be used by LEMZ to demonstrate the operational capabilities of the technology to potential future customers.

“We are very pleased with this agreement because it allows us to produce modern multilateration equipment in accordance with Russian standards,” said LEMZ R&P Corp. Director General Dr. Gennady Bendersky. “The combination of multilateration with our 'Vega' A-SMGCS system will ensure an unprecedented level of ground and air traffic safety for Russian Airports”.

Era’s multilateration solution provides higher accuracy, faster update rates, better coverage and improved reliability when compared to conventional radar, at a much lower initial cost and with lower annual maintenance and support costs. Era’s products are deployed in nearly 40 countries worldwide.

Era a.s. provides next-generation air traffic management solutions that address core challenges like safety, efficiency, profitability and functionality. Its innovative use of proven next-generation technologies, like multilateration and ADS-B, help air navigation service providers and airport operators ease capacity constraints; improve airspace and ground space efficiencies; and reduce costs.
