April 10 2006 - 9:00AM
PR Newswire (US)
FAIRFAX, Va., April 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SRA International,
Inc. (NYSE:SRX), a leading provider of technology and strategic
consulting services and solutions to federal government
organizations, today announced a Mentor-Protege agreement with
Paragon Technology Group, Inc., under the U.S. Department of the
Treasury, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization,
Mentor-Protege program. Under this two-year agreement, SRA will
provide developmental assistance and mentoring to Paragon in areas
such as corporate management, infrastructure and performance
management, technical training and professional development, and
business practices and proposal response resources. The Treasury
Mentor-Protege program was created to motivate and encourage firms
to assist small, HUBZone, and small disadvantaged businesses
including Section 8(a), woman-owned, veteran-owned, and service
disabled veteran-owned small businesses. The program is also
designed to improve the performance of Department of the Treasury
contracts and subcontracts, foster the establishment of long-term
business relationships between these entities and Treasury prime
contractors, and increase the overall number of these entities that
receive Treasury contract and subcontract awards. "The
Mentor-Protege program is a vital part of helping smaller companies
achieve greater results," said David Kriegman, SRA Executive Vice
President and Chief Operating Officer. "In addition to the
technical advantages derived from the collaboration, other benefits
to protege companies include increased recognition and business
opportunities." Paragon is a woman-owned business that has been
certified by the Small Business Administration as a small
disadvantaged business and Section 8(a) company. The company,
founded in 1997, is based in Vienna, Virginia, and provides
management and technical services to the public and private sector.
Paragon is currently working with SRA on contracts for the
Departments of the Treasury, Defense, and Homeland Security. As
part of the Mentor-Protege agreement, SRA will actively seek to
identify other subcontracting opportunities on existing and future
contracts. "Paragon is excited about the opportunity this agreement
presents to our company, SRA, and our clients," said Gazelle
Hashemian, President of Paragon Technology Group. "Our
participation in the Mentor-Protege program will enhance our
ability to offer stronger support to our clients as well as provide
SRA with our expertise in business intelligence, financial
management systems, independent verification and validation,
information technology governance, and enterprise modernization."
