PASADENA, Calif., March 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacobs Engineering
Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that three of its projects
received Facility of the Year Awards (FOYA) from the International
Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), INTERPHEX and
Pharmaceutical Processing magazine, sponsors of the awards
program.
The Vaccine Bulk Manufacturing Facility (VBF) Program of
Projects at the Merck facility in Durham,
N.C. received the FOYA for Facility Integration. Jacobs
provided engineering, procurement, construction management and
commissioning/validation services, as well as full modular design
and fabrication for the manufacturing facility.
Chiesi Farmaceutici's Research and Development Centre in Parma,
Italy won the FOYA for
Sustainability. Jacobs executed master planning and laboratory
programming, design services, authority application, project and
construction management and commissioning for the facility.
The National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training
(NIBRT) received the FOYA for Special Recognition for Novel
Collaboration for its New Greenfield facility in Dublin, Ireland. Jacobs performed concept
design, planning application, project management, architecture,
process, civil/structural, electrical, BMS, mechanical, building
services, contract administration and services during construction
for the project.
