(NYSE:JEC) announced today that it was awarded the U.S. Government's 2011 Department of Defense Systems Engineering Top 5 Program Award. The award was presented at the 14th Annual NDIA Systems Engineering Conference held in San Diego from October 24-27, 2011.

Sponsored by the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Systems Engineering and the Systems Engineering Division of the National Defense Industrial Association, the Top 5 award recognizes excellence in application of Systems Engineering discipline that results in highly successful Department of Defense programs. Winners are selected based on the demonstration of successful implementation of Systems Engineering best practices resulting in program success, as assessed by their performance.

Jacobs and the Air Force were presented the award in recognition of their Enterprise Business Systems (EBS) for the Air Force Research Laboratory. EBS leverages information technology solutions to increase the transfer of advanced technologies from the laboratories to the warfighter. The Top 5 award, presented to both the Government project office and the industry prime contractor, represents the recognition of significant achievement by teams of industry and government personnel.
