Extending its growing lineup of IT security solutions, Ingram Micro
Inc. (NYSE: IM) today announced a new broadline distribution
relationship with Exacq Technologies, Inc., a developer of open
architecture, cross platform video management system (VMS)
solutions for video surveillance and security applications.
Under the new North American agreement, Ingram Micro Physical
Security will market, sell and support Exacq's full line of
security products including the exacqVision family of VMS
solutions, which support single-camera applications as well as
large, scalable and distributed corporate or campus systems
featuring thousands of cameras.
"Exacq offers a strong value proposition that will enable our
resellers' security practices to grow and thrive with flexible,
affordable and scalable solutions that deliver cross platform
compatibility with a wide range of manufacturer devices including
IP surveillance cameras, access control systems and video
analytics," says Tom Burns, general manager, Ingram Micro Physical
Security. "We're very pleased to add Exacq's innovative product
family to our IT security portfolio."
Using exacqVision, real-time and recorded video can be viewed,
managed and configured from any location on the network. The system
is scalable across multiple locations and delivers powerful remote
functionality for enhanced IT management. For added flexibility,
system administrators can set up multiple users with very specific
functionality.
The exacqVision VMS software is available on a factory-installed
hybrid server or an Internet Protocol (IP) camera server. Both of
these servers utilize today's advanced IP network cameras, which
reside on and send video using common computer networks. The hybrid
system also incorporates video from analog cameras without the need
for video encoders.
The exacqVision client is freely available for Windows, Linux
and Macintosh operating systems while the exacqVision thin client
runs on any standard Web browser. The company also provides the
free exacq Mobile "app" available for iPhone, iPad and Android
devices.
Exacq Solutions Address Vertical Markets IT
Security Needs
With demand for security and surveillance solutions strong and
growing, adoption is extending beyond major corporations into small
and mid-size businesses and across vertical markets as
organizations seek better, smarter and more affordable ways to keep
their assets safe and secure. Exacq equips resellers to address
market demand with flexible, tailored solutions that support
specific vertical applications in government, education, corporate,
finance, retail and healthcare.
"As a true broadline distributor, Ingram Micro will make the
exacqVision solution available to a much larger spectrum of the
market," notes Dave Underwood, president of Exacq Technologies.
"Our relationship with Ingram Micro will give us a competitive edge
in terms of our ability to serve new markets and reach channel
partners and their end-users. We chose Ingram Micro because of the
