LITTLE FALLS, N.J.,
Oct. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CANTEL
MEDICAL CORP.'s (NYSE: CMN) Minneapolis,
MN based subsidiary, Minntech Corporation, has been named by
the Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA), as one of three
finalists in the Life Sciences Award - Established Companies
Category for the 2011 Tekne Awards. The Tekne Awards recognize
Minnesota companies and
individuals who have shown superior technology innovation and
leadership. The awards ceremony will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Thursday, November 3, 2011.
Minntech was honored as a finalist from among the top tech-based
companies in Minnesota for its
latest advancement in innovation and product sterilization
technology: REVOX(SM) Contract Sterilization Services. Developed by
Cantel Infection Prevention and Control Chemistries (IPCC), a new
business unit formed at Minntech in 2010, the REVOX service is the
only rapid turnaround, true room-temperature vapor sterilization
(18 – 30 degrees C) offering for the medical, pharmaceutical and
consumer products industries. The technology allows heat-sensitive
devices to be sterilized without compromising materials
compatibility, product quality or integrity, and also significantly
reduces the preparation time of the sterilization process that is
associated with other methods.
"We are excited to be named as a finalist for the Tekne Award
and be recognized for our innovation," said Andrew Krakauer, President and CEO, Cantel
Medical Corp. "Minntech's recent technological advancements in the
sterilization arena, combined with outstanding customer support,
have provided significant value to our customers. We will continue
to provide new and innovative products and services to infection
prevention and control markets."
Presented by the MHTA, the Tekne Awards annually recognize
Minnesota's best and brightest
technology users and developers in innovation, development,
education, commercialization and management. A full list of
finalists is available online at http://www.tekneawards.org.
