DeVry Education Group (NYSE: DV) and ArchieMD, a leading
provider of visually-based health science education, announced
today that they have entered a license agreement. Per the
agreement, all DeVry Group institutions will have access to
ArchieMD’s vast digital asset library of images, animations and
mobile apps for use in classroom-based and distance education.
Becker Professional Education, part of DeVry Education Group, will
use the asset library to expand the use of images and animations
throughout Becker’s USMLE® Step 1 and Step 2 exam review courses,
fully embedding animations throughout Becker’s interactive eBook
platform.
"Embedding ArchieMD’s scientifically accurate and visually
stunning imagery throughout our print and digital course materials
will provide students with an engaging, best-in-class experience as
they prepare for these high-stakes licensing examinations,” said
Ramin Nadaf, Becker’s vice president of course development.
“This license agreement will enable faculty at DeVry Group’s
medical schools to integrate highly engaging visual content into
their teaching, and provide students with access to up-to-date
medical imagery to support their mastery of medical concepts,” said
Bruce Kaplan, executive director of DeVry Group’s Institute for
Research and Clinical Strategy (IRCS). “This will also position
Becker and the Institute for Research and Clinical Strategy to
offer innovative medical education to students across the health
professions.”
ArchieMD’s library, which covers human anatomy, physiology,
pharmacology, immunology and general surgery and medical
procedures, will also be available to DeVry Group’s medical,
nursing and allied health institutions through the license
agreement.
“Visual tools such as 3-D animations and interactive graphics
are ideal for simplifying health science concepts and are rapidly
becoming the educational medium of choice,” said Robert Levine,
M.D., ArchieMD’s president and chief medical officer. “We are
excited to be working with an organization that is committed to
using the latest technologies to enhance the educational
experience. DeVry Group institutions will now be able to widely
disseminate our expansive body of visual tools among their various
health education programs, thereby adding a critical new dimension
to their curricula.”
