Mr. Bartels has over twenty five years of executive experience in the object database market and was founder and CEO of Poet Software, an object database company that Versant acquired in 2004. As one of the original object database entrepreneurs, Mr. Bartels has been a notable participant in the evolution of the market for Versant's technology over the past 20 years. Most recently, he provided strategic executive consulting for several technology companies in the U.S. and Germany, including Surgient Inc. and Versant.
