Trend Micro to post beta OfficeScan 7.8 to website with antivirus
and anti-spyware supporting Microsoft Corp.'s
Release-to-Manufacturing (RTM) candidate; joins previously
announced PC-cillin beta for consumer testers of Windows Vista
CUPERTINO, Calif., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Trend Micro
Incorporated (TSE:4704TSE:Nasdaq:TSE:TMIC), a leader in network
antivirus and Internet content security software and services,
today announced the web posting of Trend Micro(TM) OfficeScan(TM)
7.8 beta, the company's corporate desktop security solution.
OfficeScan 7.8 beta will provide antivirus and other protections
for Windows Vista, the next generation of the Windows client
operating system, as it becomes available for Windows Vista.
OfficeScan protects an organization's Windows Vista computers from
viruses and malicious code, including file viruses, macro viruses,
and malicious spyware, Java applets and ActiveX Controls. Offered
originally in May through participation with Microsoft's Technology
Adoption Program (TAP), the Trend Micro OfficeScan beta for Windows
Vista beta version of Trend Micro OfficeScan 7.8 is immediately
available for download through the Trend Micro public website at:

include full support for Windows Vista. But to support the range of
customer types who will be purchasing or evaluating Windows Vista
over the next several months, Trend Micro has been offering a
PC-cillin(TM) Internet Security beta for consumers as well as the
OfficeScan 7.8 beta for business customers. The OfficeScan 7.8 beta
is based on the currently shipping OfficeScan 7.3, but with
modifications to smoothly support the Windows Vista environment and
eliminate conflicts with the new security features within Windows
Vista. A beta of OfficeScan 8.0 will be offered in January and
feature even tighter integration and include new enhancements to
help enterprise customers combat everyday threats with better and
simplified management for all types of endpoints. Customers are
recommended to deploy OfficeScan 7.8 beta on a controlled Windows
Vista environment and, when ready, 8.0 on a larger-scale Windows
