Nutrisystem Inc. (NTRI) on Monday said it is now offering
certain of its weight loss products at Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
(WMT).
The weight loss products company is offering its 5-Day
Nutrisystem Jumpstart Your Weight Loss Kit exclusively at nearly
2,000 Wal-Mart stores.
The kit, which includes 15 entrees plus desserts, a free meal
planner and program guide with access to free weight loss
counseling, can be purchased at Wal-Mart for $44.98.
"By bringing our world-class weight loss solution to select
Wal-Mart stores, we will be able to make a difference in the lives
of consumers we are not currently reaching," Chief Executive Dawn
Zier said.
The provider of weight-loss products and services has struggled
to lift profits despite cost-cutting efforts. Last month,
Nutrisystem reported that its fourth-quarter loss widened sharply
as revenue declined, although costs edged down.
Shares closed Friday at $7.45 and were inactive in recent
premarket trading. The stock has dropped 33% in the past 12
months.
