Americans Are Serious About Having Fun Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc.
Surveys Attitudes for National Fun at Work Day BILOXI, Miss., March
31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Despite the pressures of work, kids,
deadlines and demanding bosses, Americans are managing to keep a
sense of humor and have fun, according to the Isle of Capri
Casinos, Inc. (NASDAQ:ISLE) 2005 Fun Survey. As the workweek gets
longer, having fun at work is becoming increasingly important, and
the survey shows that Americans are juggling the FUN-damentals of
life on the job pretty well. According to the Isle of Capri Casino
Fun Survey, conducted by Opinion Research Corporation, a worldwide
research and consulting firm with more than 65 years of experience,
about 60 percent of Americans say at least half or more of their
week is fun. Regardless of how they identify "fun" -- whether it's
something that puts you in a better mood (36 percent), makes you
laugh (35 percent), makes you smile (15 percent) or just makes you
want to be more social (10 percent) -- Americans are finding time
to make fun a priority in their lives every day. And work is no
exception. With National Fun at Work Day just around the corner on
April 1, Isle's survey showed almost nine out of ten adults (89
percent) think that work can be fun. That means your neighbor at
work is probably having a good time being there. Are you? "Our
company is founded on a culture of fun, both internally and as a
brand. Our team members and customers expect a fun experience every
time they come through our doors," said Timothy M. Hinkley,
president and chief operating officer of Isle of Capri Casinos,
Inc. "Therefore, this focus on being a leader in the business of
fun has made us take a 360-degree look at what 'fun' is, what it
means to all of us in our personal lives and how important it is
during our workday. And, it just seemed like a fun thing to do!"
Isle's Fun Survey showed that more than half (53 percent) of
respondents say that fun is a greater priority in their lives as
compared to fun at work. Men are more likely to think work is more
important in a weekly routine than women (45 percent to 37
percent). The survey is based on telephone surveys of 1,030 adults
conducted from March 4 through 7 with a margin of error of plus or
minus three percentage points. CONTACT: Lori Hutzler, Director of
