Prestigious Chinese Publication Recognizes the IDTP9021, the Industry’s First Wireless Power Receiver Compatible with Both WPC and PMA Standards

Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT®) (NASDAQ: IDTI), the Analog and Digital Company™ delivering essential mixed-signal semiconductor solutions, accepted a prestigious award for its industry-first dual-mode wireless power receiver. China’s Electronic Engineering & Product World (EEPW) magazine recognized IDT with the best power management product award for the IDTP9021, which provides compatibility with both the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) and Power Matters Alliance (PMA) standards. IDT’s innovative receiver bridges the technology gap between competing wireless power standards, empowering mobile device and accessory OEMs to use a single bill-of-materials to support both standards.

IDT accepted the award at a ceremony in Shenzhen HuaQiang Plaza Hotel on May 28. Winners were selected by visitors to the EEPW website.

“As our customers implement wireless charging technology into their portable devices, they want compatibility with both magnetic induction-based standards. A solution that offers such multi-mode operation without burdening the solution with excessive component cost or complexity is needed,” said Arman Naghavi, IDT’s vice president and general manager, Analog and Power Division. “Our dual-mode wireless power receiver IDTP9021 addresses this issue, offering an easy to design multi-mode solution for more cost-effective and efficient product development. We appreciate EEPW’s recognition of our leading work in this important space.”

The IDTP9021 wireless power receiver complies with the PMA Interoperability Specification in addition to the WPC “Qi” standard, allowing customers to consolidate multi-chip configurations into a single-chip solution. The IDT wireless power receivers are ideal for use in a myriad of mobile devices, including smart phones, MIDs, digital cameras, MP3 players, remote controls, portable medical devices, and other personal electronics.

IDT recently introduced the IDTP9023, an update of the IDTP9021 that offers full compatibility with the latest versions of both the WPC and PMA standards.
