FORT WORTH, Texas, September 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Elbit Systems of America, LLC, a global leader in improving
aircraft situational awareness and combat readiness is showcasing
its advanced avionics systems and innovative software solutions to
the United States Air Force during the upcoming Air & Space
Conference and Technology Exposition at National Harbor, MD, on
September 14-16, 2015.
Each airman taking to the skies relies on his equipment to
successfully complete the mission and come home safely. With
decades of experience supplying advanced cockpit systems and
supporting the USAF, Elbit Systems of America and their suite of
avionics are depended on by many warfighters in their critical
missions.
"With equipment on the F-35, F-16, F-15, CV-22, T-38, C-130J,
and the AC-130 Gunship, we fully understand the needs of the USAF
and its pilots. Our products are designed to meet these needs and
ultimately, aid in bringing our warfighters home safely," commented
Raanan Horowitz, Elbit Systems of
America President and CEO.
"Many of these aircraft feature our advanced cockpit systems,
helmet mounted displays, head up displays, laser targeting, and
mapping systems. In addition to finding solutions inside the
cockpit, our products are also outside the aircraft as well. Our
missile warning systems and Joint Direct Attack Munition Laser
Seekers both aid in protecting the warfighter."
Helmet Mounted Displays - seeing is
believing
The JHMCSII, the latest in Helmet Mounted Cueing Systems, is the
world's first high definition, color, smart visor projection system
that operates in both day and night conditions. Currently available
for F-16, C-130 and other aircraft, this unique capability allows
the pilot to easily transition modes when flying in dusk or dawn.
The JHMCS II's innovative head-tracking technology allows the
pilot to aim sensors and weapons in whatever direction he is
looking while also receiving increased situation awareness
information creating intelligent vision in the cockpit. With the
JHMCS II, pilots and aircrew will have friendly, threat and unknown
targets presented in an all-aspect and intuitive visor-projected
display.
This technology, evolved from Elbit's commercial products, can
be incorporated into current versions of the JHMCS available on
most US fighter aircraft. JHMCS operators now have the option of a
plug and play system that replaces the legacy JHMCS helmet with the
Digital JHMCS helmet. Pilots will experience improved center of
gravity of the helmet mounted display and less neck strain with the
safety of visor projected color symbology and video.
Advanced Cockpits Systems - improving
situational awareness
Elbit Systems of America's advanced cockpit systems include
cutting edge mission processors, head up displays, large area
displays, and the F-16 Advanced Programmable Display Generator
designed to increase the pilot's situational awareness and safety.
For decades, Elbit System of America has supplied F-16 avionics for
customers worldwide optimizing tactical situation displays,
processing advanced applications, and providing high definition
formats for advanced sensor video presentations.
The USAF and its C-17 Globemaster III pilots also benefit from
the advanced technology of Elbit Systems of America. The
Replacement Head Up Display, designed specifically for the C-17,
enhances the ability of the pilot and crew to successfully fulfill
their air mobility requirements to deliver troop and cargo to main
operating bases around the world. The C-17 HUD is also compatible
with Elbit's enhanced vision system that improves the pilot's
situational awareness during reduced visibility conditions such as
fog, snow, and rain allowing military aircraft to safely land,
taxi, and takeoff safely.
Live-Virtual-Constructive Combat Training -
taking training to new heights
The revolutionary Embedded Virtual Avionics (EVA) takes
Live-Virtual-Constructive Training to, literally, new heights. EVA,
the embedded simulation suite for trainer and fighter aircraft,
transforms the trainer aircraft into an advanced virtual fighter
aircraft and provides fighter aircraft with virtual air and ground
adversaries while simultaneously lowering training costs. Pilots in
the trainer aircraft can see, operate, and experience functional
weapon systems while operational fighter pilots train in
challenging scenarios free from range, threat and adversary
aircraft scheduling constraints.
By incorporating an internal data link for multi-participant
distributed training, the EVA system provides fully function,
virtual weapon systems and sensors as well as fully responsive air
and ground threats.
Advanced Missile Warning Systems - know the
threat before it is one
The only combat proven IR-based Missile Warning System for all
aircraft, including fighter jets, PAWS-US provides protection for
aircrews during constantly changing combat environments. The combat
proven system allows for early threat detection and warning as well
as enhanced situation awareness allowing pilot and crews to focus
on their mission, not the threat.
The PAWS-US IR sensors when enhanced with Elbit Systems of
America's IR-Centric capabilities can turn your missile defense
system into a targeting quality, sensor to shooter, offensive
solution.
Precision Guidance Seekers - making munitions
smart
Elbit Systems of America's family of advanced seekers provides
exceptional performance in keeping our troops safe. The Precision
Semi-active Laser and Multi-mode seekers are designed for smart
munitions such as the Laser JDAM, the Viper Strike, and the
Griffin. Deployed in multiple theaters of operation, the seekers
can increase detection range and are highly effective against
static and high-speed moving targets.
