Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDNS) today announced it is launching a
global Tensilica Design Contest for processor optimization
sponsored by the Cadence® Academic Network. The contest marks the
first worldwide design competition for the academic community to
use the state-of-the-art Tensilica® Xtensa® Processor. The contest
is geared toward promoting innovations in the areas of vision
processing, neural networks, audio/video/image processing and many
other DSP and embedded applications.
Universities that are part of the free Tensilica University
Program are encouraged to participate and can easily
join. Qualifying teams will receive guidance and online
training on the use of the processor and software development
tools. The winning team will have an opportunity to participate and
present their paper at a Cadence User Conference in 2017. An expert
committee of Tensilica architects and academic professors will
