Resignation of Non-Executive Director



DUBLIN & LONDON: 11 January 2007 - Ormonde Mining plc ("Ormonde" or "the Company
") advises that Mr. Andrew R. McM. Bell, a non-executive Director of the
Company, is resigning from the Board of Ormonde as a result of his increasing
work commitments elsewhere.  Mr. Bell now has executive responsibilities with
several other listed resource companies and the expanded activities of these
companies necessitate his full-time involvement.  Consequently, he has requested
that Ormonde accept his resignation from the Board with immediate effect.



The Board of Ormonde extends its thanks to Mr. Bell for his contribution to the
Company and wishes him well in his expanding interests in the resource sector.
