Sanofi SA has closed the $11.7 billion sale of almost its entire 20.6% stake in U.S. biotech company Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc.

The French pharmaceutical major said it now holds 400,000 shares in the U.S. company. The sale won't affect the ongoing collaboration between Sanofi and Regeneron, it said late Friday.
