Bay Valley Foods, a division of TreeHouse Foods, Inc. (NYSE:THS), today celebrated the reopening of the Companys New Hampton, Iowa plant with an official ribbon cutting ceremony. The facility, damaged by a second-story fire about 18 months ago, employs 50 people and is one of the larger employers in New Hampton.

The plant is one of three Bay Valley Foods locations that produce non-dairy powdered creamers and other dry powdered products. The second floor of the building underwent a 14-month reconstruction that included state-of-the-art fire prevention systems and an improved overall design.

We are both excited and grateful to bring all of our employees back and to continue to provide our customers with the high-quality products they have come to expect from Bay Valley Foods, said Bob Sanford, New Hampton plant manager. Once again, our sincere gratitude goes out to the New Hampton Volunteer Fire Department, neighboring fire departments and the Chickasaw County Emergency Management Team for their prompt and skilled response in containing and extinguishing last years fire.

By all accounts it was business as usual for the plants customers during reconstruction. Production was supplemented by Bay Valley Foods Wayland, Michigan and Pecatonica, Illinois plants and outside suppliers. During the reconstruction, New Hampton employees continued to receive benefits and wages.

The New Hampton facility opened in 1995 and is located in an industrial park in town. The fire in February 2008 damaged the second floor of the two-story building and was quickly controlled by local fire officials. Bay Valley Foods is the largest manufacturer of powdered creamer in the United States based on sales volume.
