Total SA (FP.FR) said Monday that it has acquired French company Vents d'Oc Energies Renouvelables as part of its strategy to strengthen its position in renewable energy.

Montpellier-based Vents d'Oc, which will be acquired through French oil-and-gas giant's subsidiary Quadran, develops more than 200 megawatts of renewable energy, mainly through wind power.

On Sept. 1, 2019, Vents d'Oc will be renamed Total Quadran, the company said.

The company didn't disclose the financial details of the deal.
