State Street Corporation (NYSE:STT), has been named the No.1
charitable contributor in Massachusetts by the Boston Business
Journal (BBJ). The BBJ’s ranking looked at companies that gave at
least $100,000 to local nonprofits in 2012. The BBJ also ranked
State Street as one of the top three charitable contributors for
five years in a row.
“We are honored to be named the top charitable contributor in
Massachusetts by the Boston Business Journal,” said Alison Quirk,

officer at State Street. “Giving back to the communities in which
we work and live is an integral part of our culture. Last year, our

nonprofit groups and donated approximately $2.7 million through
State Street’s Matching Gift program and Global Giving
Campaign.”
State Street’s Foundation provided more than $21 million in
charitable contributions globally in 2012 and was recently cited by
CR magazine and Business in the Community for being a top corporate
citizen. Last month, Working Mother magazine named State Street to
its 2013 100 Best Companies listing for its commitment to
progressive workplace programs, including child care, flexibility
and paid family leave.
