Colgate Palmolive Co.'s (CL) Chief Executive Ian Cook received total compensation valued at $17.2 million for 2009, according to a regulatory filing.

The company put Cook's total compensation for 2008 at $14.2 million. Cook's salary for 2009 rose to $1.2 million from $1.1 million in 2008. His nonequity incentive plan compensation rose to $3.5 million from $3.2 million.
