Tesla Inc. (TSLA) will be able to sell and service its cars to
Michigan residents under a settlement that would dismiss the
company's lawsuit against Michigan state that prevented Tesla from
selling directly to consumers through company-owned stores as well
as from opening service centers.
The settlement on Wednesday will allow Tesla to sell its
vehicles to Michigan customers "as long as the sales contract
indicates the sale took place in a state other than Michigan," the
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel's office said in a
statement.
The attorney general's office said Tesla can also indirectly own
service-and-repair facilities in Michigan through a subsidiary,
Tesla Michigan.
