Beefed Up Integration Platform Offers Increased Connectivity and
Agility for SaaS, SOA and Traditional Packaged Applications AUSTIN,
Texas, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pervasive Software(R) Inc.
(NASDAQ:PVSW), a global value leader in embeddable data management
and integration software, today announced the release of Pervasive
Data Integrator(TM) and Pervasive Business Integrator(TM) version
8.12 to solidify its leadership in delivery of embeddable data
integration. The latest release boasts a growing range of CRM, SaaS
and enterprise connectivity, SOA enablement features, easier and
faster embeddability with SDK enhancements, simplified data
mapping, and easy-to-use OEM rebranding capabilities. Release 8.12
also features Easy Loader, a simple mapping GUI that ISVs can
distribute to their end users for wizard-driven creation of data
loaders that feed their software as a service (SaaS) or packaged
software applications. Pervasive integration continues to become
increasingly popular with SIs, ISVs, ASPs and BPOs due to its light
footprint, embeddability, rich feature set, robust functionality
and tremendous breadth of connectors. The new release adds adapters
to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 and Oracle Siebel CRM On Demand,
ACUCOBOL GT v. 7 and SQL Server 2005 in addition to the existing
family of more than 150 adapters including salesforce.com, Oracle
BPEL, Sage- SalesLogix, and SAP. "Pervasive is building out the
integration tools to include adapters to more CRM and SaaS
products. This makes a lot of sense, since SaaS applications are
becoming part of the IT landscape, and of cross-application process
automation initiatives," said Martin Schneider, senior analyst with
The 451 Group, a technology industry analyst company focused on the
business of enterprise IT innovation, in his report. Schneider
added, "As the SaaS movement gains wider acceptance among all kinds
of businesses, somebody has to gain from offering simple,
inexpensive data and application integration both within and in
between firewalls." (1) "Integration has always been a tough
problem, and now, as integration landscapes expand to the edge of
the enterprise and beyond, whole new classes of integration pain
emerge. Dealing with those highly varied and constantly changing
landscapes, and making integration easier, is where Pervasive
excels," said Mike Hoskins, chief technology officer for Pervasive
Software. "We've been able to successfully manage deployments for
scenarios ranging from migration of massive data sets of millions
of records to on-demand, real-time bidirectional integration in
highly heterogeneous environments - and we deliver quickly and
affordably. We continue to help partners and customers benefit from
paradigm shifts such as the rapid adoption of SaaS within complex,
heterogeneous environments including packaged, custom and hosted
applications." Many IT organizations leverage Pervasive integration
and welcome the new product release. ZC Sterling is a leader in
providing hazard insurance tracking and outsourcing services,
voluntary homeowners insurance, customized real estate tax
services, customer care solutions and Hispanic call center services
for the mortgage and insurance industry. It recently upgraded to
Pervasive Business Integrator 8.12 to leverage the expanded
capabilities. "We consider ourselves 'power users' of Pervasive
Business Integrator, and the robustness and scalability is there
when we need it," said Adam McPherson, team lead, data conversion
at ZC Sterling. "We have to meet a number of exacting data
specifications, and Pervasive allows us to rapidly create the
processes to achieve this. In many ways, Pervasive has given us a
lot of flexibility to meet our data demands and to grow the
business." "The integration obstacles that businesses of all types
and sizes must tackle requires an agile and flexible solution from
a provider and partner that is poised to quickly respond to changes
in an organization's business processes and technology landscape,"
said Hoskins. "Pervasive's long history of providing organizations
with flexible, 'buy once, use many' embeddable integration
solutions will continue to be uniquely valuable as new business
models such as SaaS, integration on demand and SOA adoption gain
traction." About Pervasive Integration Pervasive's embeddable
