Campbell Named to the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices for Eighth Consecutive Year

Campbell Soup Company (NYSE: CPB) has been named to the
Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index for the eighth
consecutive year and the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for
the seventh consecutive year. These independent rankings recognize
Campbell’s leadership in supporting long-term shareholder value
while creating a more sustainable environment and making a
measurable difference in local communities.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) and its publisher,
RobecoSAM, recognized Campbell’s progress in several areas
including: Health & Nutrition, Materiality, Corporate
Philanthropy, Water Related Risks and Packaging. Campbell’s key
results in these areas from the past year include:
- Increasing the total gross sales of
foods that meet the U.S. Food and Drug Administration definition of
healthy by 8.6 percent for Campbell’s U.S. product portfolio;
- Logging more than 14,100 volunteer
hours in Campbell’s hometown communities in the U.S.;
- Providing more than $1.8 million in
grants through the Campbell Soup Foundation to nonprofit community
service organizations, with more than half dedicated to agencies
serving the city of Camden;
- Reducing absolute water use by 2.4
percent in fiscal 2015; and
- Eliminating 316,000 pounds of raw
material used for packaging in manufacturing processes in fiscal
2015, surpassing the company’s cumulative goal to eliminate 100
million pounds of packaging by 2020.
