                                   ANNOUNCEMENT OF BLOCK LISTING APPLICATION


Yamana  announces that an application has been made to the UK Listing Authority and the London  Stock  Exchange
for,  respectively,  admission to the Official List and admission to trading of a block listing  of  19,800,000
common shares each of which may be allotted and issued in due course pursuant to the Restricted Share Unit Plan
of  the  company  that was approved at the annual and special meeting of shareholders on May 14,  2008.  Should
Restricted  Share  Units be granted and vest under the Restricted Share Unit Plan, each Restricted  Share  Unit
will  convert into one fully paid up common share of Yamana or, at the option of the Yamana, a cash payment  of
equivalent value.
