                       Quester VCT 5 plc ("the Company")



The directors are pleased to announce that the Company has made an allotment of
432,304 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") under the
2002/2003 offer for subscription announced on 2 October 2002.

It is expected that dealings will commence on Wednesday 30 October 2002.

Mr. J J C Lovell has subscribed for 50,000 Ordinary Shares as part of this
allotment and following this his interest in the ordinary share capital of the
Company will be 100,000 Ordinary Shares.
