          Appointment of Group Chief Executive
                            
Peterhead, the specialist mechanical asset rental  group,
announces  today the appointment of Mr William  Baugh  as
Group  Chief Executive, with immediate effect.  Mr  Baugh
who  joined Peterhead as a non-executive director  on  31
October 1997, was previously a divisional Chief Executive
and main board director of Molins plc.

Mr  William  Goff,  who was appointed  to  the  Board  in
September  1996 to assist the Group through  the  placing
and capital restructuring last year, will resign from the
Board on 31 January 1998, on the expiry of his fixed term
contract.

The  Board intends to announce the appointment of a  non-
executive director in the near future.
