On  6  October  1997, David A Symon, Group  Chief  Executive,
purchased a total of 90,000 Ordinary Shares of IR10p each  of
Peterhead.

40,000  shares were purchased at 54p per share and 50,000  at
55p per share.

As a result of these purchases Mr Symon is now the beneficial
holder  of  156,666 Peterhead shares, representing 0.52%  per
cent of the issued share capital.
