                     TRADING UPDATE
                            
Following inaccurate newspaper comment over the last week-
end,  Mulberry  confirms that it will be  announcing  its
preliminary  results  on Wednesday 26  August,  1998,  as
planned.
 
The  result for the year to 31 March 1998 is expected  to
show  a loss before taxation of #999,000 which is in line
with  current market expectations following  the  trading
update  issued on 3 March 1998.  This is after accounting
in full for one-off restructuring costs of #600,000.
 
Mulberry  confirms  that it has no  plans  to  close  its
British manufacturing operation and that trading  in  the
current year is in line with budget.
