       KBC awarded Multi-site Profit Improvement Program in South America



KBC Advanced Technologies plc, a leading independent process engineering group,
has been awarded a multi-site Profit Improvement Program for a South American
refining conglomerate.  The contract value is in excess of $15m over a 30-month
period.



Commencing in the second quarter of 2002, the scope of work will include all
areas of operations, incorporating programs in yield and energy improvement,
operations planning and oil loss assessment, as well as equipment reliability
and maintenance.



This is an important contract that KBC has been negotiating for a number of
months. The contribution to profits in 2002 was assumed in the Company's
announcement of 23 May 2002, with a significant proportion of the work being
carried out in 2003 and beyond.
