notified on January 27th, 2006, that AXA Investment Managers UK Ltd has a 
notifiable interest in 7,192,500 ordinary shares in KBC, representing 13.60% of 
the issued ordinary share capital of the Company.  These shares are represented 
by a beneficial interest of 95,000 shares and a non-beneficial interest of 
7,097,500 shares.
