                         GLOBAL ENERGY DEVELOPMENT PLC


Global Energy Development PLC ("Global") announces that it has shortened its
first accounting period so that it ended on 31 December 2001 rather than 31
December 2002.

Global will publish its audited Report and Financial Statements for the period
ended 31 December 2001 by the end of June 2002.  Its next published results will
be unaudited consolidated interim results for the six month period ended 30 June
2002.
