DELTRON ELECTRONICS PLC

Acquisition of Hawnt Electronics Limited for #6.8million & Radikor Electronics
B.V. for #0.2million

Deltron Electronics plc ("Deltron"), the specialist European distributor of
electromechanical components and solutions, announces that it has acquired
Hawnt Electronics Limited ("Hawnt"), one of the UK's oldest and most respected
private electromechanical component distributors. Hawnt, which is being
acquired for #6.8million, comes with approximately #1million cash at bank.
Deltron also announces today that it has acquired the components business of
Radikor Electronics B.V. ("Radikor"), a Netherlands-based specialist
distributor of electromechanical components with a turnover of #0.9million,
for #200,000.

Hawnt Electronics Limited

Established in 1930, Hawnt specialises in connectors and magnetic components
and is the UK's leading specialist distributor for Molex connectors and
Ferroxcube magnetic components which are world leading products in their
respective fields. With a turnover in the year to March 2001 of #8.8million,
Hawnt's net assets are at #3.5million whilst profits, after directors'
remuneration, total #0.5million. Hawnt will be consolidated with Deltron's
existing UK operations and provide support to Deltron-Roxburgh's leadership in
the distribution of specialist e-mech components.

Deltron has acquired the entire share capital of Hawnt for a consideration of
#6.8million, of which #2.9m is payable in cash, and #3.9m is being satisfied
by the issue of loan notes.

Radikor Electronics B.V.

Deltron has acquired the components distribution business and certain assets
of Radikor for an initial cash consideration of #0.2million with a maximum
deferred consideration of #0.2million payable dependent upon the profitability
for the three years to September 2004. Turnover in the year to December 2000
was #0.9million.

The newly acquired business has been renamed Deltron Radikor B.V. and gives
Deltron a presence in the Netherlands for the first time, bringing the number
of European countries where Deltron is represented to eight. Deltron
Radikor's sales office will be supported by Deltron Roxburgh, the Group's
European distribution hub in North Lincolnshire.

Deltron is now active in over 75% of the applicable European markets, making
the Company the 4th largest distributor of electromechanical components in the
EU. These acquisitions represent an important step in Deltron's stated aim of
doubling the size of the Group over the next eighteen months.

Commenting on the acquisitions, Christopher Sawyer, Chief Executive of
Deltron, said:

"We are delighted with these acquisitions. Hawnt is one of the most respected
private electromechanical component distributors in the UK today and an
invaluable addition to the Deltron Group whilst the Radikor acquisition, our
first in the Netherlands, provides us with another important foothold in
Europe. Combined, this development represents another step towards making
Deltron a European market leader for the international electromechanical
market."
