The Board of Admiral announces that Geoff Neville has been
appointed Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Group with
immediate effect, pending completion of the offer by CMG for
Admiral. Geoff joined Admiral in 1984 and became an Executive
Director of Admiral plc in January.  As previously announced,
following completion of the CMG offer, he will be Country Chairman
of the Enlarged UK operation and will become a Member of the
Executive Committee of the Enlarged Group.

                                

Notes to Editors:

Geoff Neville joined Admiral in 1984 having enjoyed an early
career with Rolls-Royce plc.  He has extensive management
experience of all aspects of the IT services industry, having
served as Managing Director of each of Admiral's client facing
businesses.  Geoff takes particular responsibility for Admiral's
Public and Commercial sectors; and for the company's international
development.  Geoff became a member of the Executive Committee on
its formation in 1994 and was elected to Admiral's Main Board on 1
January 2000.
