       GLASGOW SIGNED AS CITY SPONSOR NUMBER 6 FOR CLIPPER 05-06 RACE IN 
                              #0.5 MILLION DEAL

Glasgow, Scotland, 15 December 2004: Clipper Ventures PLC has today announced
the city of Glasgow as the sixth international city to sponsor a yacht in the
Clipper 05-06 Round the World Yacht Race.

The Scottish entry will be backed by the private sector to a total value of
#0.5m, with #0.25m of funding already undertaken by Glasgow City Council for the
city's title sponsorship of its own yacht entry and its appointment as Host Port
for one of the prologue races.

William Ward, Chief Executive of Clipper Ventures Plc said: "The signing of the
City of Glasgow demonstrates how we are continuing to build the Clipper Race
into a world-class event and thus attract high levels of public and private
sector sponsorship."

Councillor Alex Mosson, Spokesperson for Glasgow City Council Marketing and
Events, added: "The promotional and tourism benefits of our participation are
considerable, which alongside the positive economic impact, will reaffirm the
city's commitment to the promotion of Glasgow on the international stage."

Glasgow's involvement in the nation versus nation Clipper 05-06 Race has been
secured by the Glasgow City Council and Fast Track Sailing, the exclusive global
commercial and media partner for the event.
