         CLIPPER VENTURES SIGNS ISLAND OF JERSEY AS FIFTH RACING ENTRY


Clipper Ventures PLC (Ticker CLV; "the Company"), the AIM quoted ocean racing
company, today announces the signing of a sponsorship agreement for Jersey to
host the prestigious Clipper 05-06 Round the World Yacht Race. As part of the
deal the island of Jersey has also acquired title sponsorship rights for its own
yacht entry in the event.


The agreement with the Jersey Clipper Committee, chaired by Pierre Horsfall,
CBE, will see Jersey defending its race title against a truly international
line-up with teams already signed up from Liverpool (UK), Durban (SA), Western
Australia and Singapore.


The Jersey entry will be backed by companies from the island's private sector to
a targeted total value of #0.5m, with #0.25m of funding already undertaken by
the Jersey branch of Swiss merchant bank UBS and property development and
construction company Dandara Jersey Ltd.


Hans Baerlocher, Managing Director of UBS in Jersey, said: "UBS is delighted to
be sponsoring Jersey's entry in the Clipper 05-06 Race. Spurred on by the
interest shown by Islanders last time, I was particularly keen for UBS to make a
substantial contribution to the funding that was required in order that Jersey
could again take part."


Martin Clancy, Managing Director of Dandara Jersey Ltd added: "As a major local
employer and supporter of community initiatives, Dandara is very proud to be a
key sponsor of the 2005-6 Jersey Clipper.  Our support means that, for the third
year running, Jersey has the chance to market itself to a worldwide audience,
ultimately benefiting commerce and industry in the Island."


Clipper Ventures' Chief Executive, Mr William Ward, said: "This sponsorship deal
underlines not only the success of the City sponsorship formula but also the
success of the Race Partner concept which allows companies to become sponsors
alongside the City title sponsors and to benefit from the international
marketing opportunities the Clipper 05-06 Race affords."


Jersey's involvement in the nation versus nation Clipper 05-06 Race has been
secured by the Jersey Clipper Committee and Fast Track Sailing, the exclusive
global commercial and media partner for the event.
