   SINGAPORE WINS RIGHT TO HOST CLIPPER RACE IN S$2.2 (#0.73) MILLION DEAL


Clipper Ventures PLC (Ticker CLV; "the Company"), the AIM quoted ocean racing
company, today announced the signing of a S$2.2m (#0.73m) sponsorship with the
Singapore Tourism Board in an agreement for Singapore to host the prestigious
Clipper 05-06 Round the World Yacht Race. As part of the deal the city has also
acquired title sponsorship rights for its own yacht entry in the event.

William Ward, Chief Executive Officer said: "Thirteen cities will be visited
during the 10 month race and this agreement follows the #2.0 million of
sponsorship already contracted to date. We are progressing with additional
sponsorships in our nation versus nation format and expect to announce these
over the coming months."

The newly introduced concept of "nation versus nation" for the Clipper 05-06
event and the increase of the fleet size from eight to ten longer and faster
yachts strengthens the Company's position as the foremost adventure and event
management company within the arena of world yachting.

The Company believes that its 05-06 Race format of city sponsorship agreements
and increasing the fleet size will enable a threefold increase in revenues to
#10m for the race. With many crew berths already taken for the Clipper 05-06
event, places for Singaporeans to compete have been reserved in advance and the
first deposits are also being taken for the next event, setting sail in
September 2007.

Singapore is the first Asian city to join the competitive line-up for the 05-06
event, which sets sail from Liverpool (UK) on Sunday, 18 September 2005.  The
vibrant city of Singapore is set to make waves in a truly international line-up
with teams already signed up from Liverpool (UK), Durban (SA) and Western
Australia.

On the third stage of the race, in January 2006, the yachts will spend ten days
in Singapore, one of only two Asian stopovers on the route.  It will also be the
first international race to berth at Sentosa Cove's brand new marina, which will
be ready just in time to receive them.

The sponsoring of this major international sporting event plays an important
role in helping Singapore and her associated businesses promote their assets.
Clipper 05-06 will deliver a number of economic benefits including international
branding exposure and destination awareness for Singapore from the extensive
global media coverage. The total benefits from the event is estimated at US$15
million in terms of media exposure and an estimated US$2 million in tourism
visitor receipts.

Mr Lim Neo Chian, Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive, Singapore Tourism Board,
said: "Singapore is the first Asian country to take up the challenge of
participating on the Clipper 05-06 Race.  We are confident that the Clipper
05-06 race will also profile Singapore to millions of race spectators and
potential visitors around the world in a most memorable and unique manner."

Singapore's 68-foot "Uniquely Singapore" yacht will be emblazoned with the
destination brand's logo and fly the Singapore flag.  There also will be
opportunities for Singaporeans to become tourism ambassadors onboard the "
Uniquely Singapore" yacht, bringing a taste of Singapore, across five continents
to the host port cities that it sails through.

"Through our crew and our hosted festival villages along the seven-leg route,
the rest of the world can get a taste of Singapore and will be able to
appreciate the sophisticated blend of the best of the modern world and rich
cultures that is Uniquely Singapore. We will bring a bit of our country, culture
and people to every one of the host port cities," Mr Lim added.

Singapore's involvement in Clipper 05-06 has been secured by the Singapore
Tourism Board and Fast Track Sailing, the exclusive global commercial and media
partner for the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.
