BT ANNOUNCES BOND ISSUE FOR INTERNAL FINANCE 
 
 
British Telecommunications plc ("BT") today announced that it will be issuing a 
bond to a BT group company. The bond issue provides additional long term 
internal finance replacing short term internal funding. The bond listing has no 
effect on the net and gross debt position of the BT group. 
 
 
The new bond replaces the bond issued in July 2008 of notional 
value GBP3,404,520,695, the new notional value is GBP3,570,912,195. The bond 
maturity remains 2019. The new bond will be listed on the Channel Islands Stock 
Exchange on 7 April 2009.
